Leave a Legacy

The things we value, the causes we support, the beliefs we espouse – all these make up a portion of who we are as people. During our lifetimes, we strive to live in such a way as to honor our values and beliefs. But many of us don’t think about doing anything to ensure that we continue to honor them after we are no longer here.

Legacy giving is the act of giving to an organization that we value to help ensure that its work continues to serve even after we are no longer here to donate in person. It’s a way for us to be remembered. It’s an act of faith, like planting a tree. If I plant a tree today, there’s a very good chance that I won’t see its full growth emerge. But I plant it still, to ensure that future generations may sit in its shade.

That’s what legacy giving does. It shows faith in the future.

This Way Out provides enormous value to the communities in which this weekly program is heard. In addition to the NewsWrap, there are cultural features, stories about the history of the LGBTQ+ equality movement, voices from transgender young people sharing their experiences in today’s political climate – and so much more. Each week, voices of queer people and their allies bind our communities together and help to promote understanding.

Your legacy gift to This Way Out will help to fund our programming for many more years to come. While our world has changed a great deal over these past 33 years that we’ve produced this program, we still have such a long way to go. Please consider including This Way Out in your estate planning. Gifts of securities, real estate, currency, and more can be accepted. Your attorney can help you determine your best course of action. Please feel free to contact Brian DeShazor by email at Brian@thiswayout.org to learn more about legacy giving.
