“Unconfirmed” Methodist Protest!

In response to the United Methodist Church Judicial Council’s April 26 endorsement of the anti-queer policies enacted by delegates to the denomination’s General Conference in February, a group of teens at the First United Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska announced in a joint letter read to the congregation during what was supposed to be their Confirmation Service on April 28th that they were postponing the action (as reported on NewsWrap: May 6)

. Sheri Shuler posted video of their protest on Twitter.

In case you needed a reason to believe that this generation will save us all, here it is. The entire confirmation class at First United Methodist Omaha decided not to join at this time in protest of the UMC’s anti lgbtq+ policies. ?❤️ pic.twitter.com/mDjwMTu9ZJ — Sheri Shuler (@SheriShuler) April 28, 2019
