Watch how the cops recorded their April 20 raid on Potemkin, a gay nightclub in Dnipro, Ukraine. They called it “the place of apostasy” … but what would you call it when the authorities bust into an establishment at 1 o’clock in the morning spewing homophobic slurs and force 30 people to lie on the floor for three hours (with all the windows open in 5C/40F degree weather) while their laptops, phones and condoms are confiscated? The Ukrainian LGBT Human Rights Nash Mir Center is demanding that the command of the National Police of Ukraine, the command of the police in Dnipropetrovsk oblast and the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights investigate the illegal police action.
